While downloading the coordinates, make sure that there's no private property or hazardous zone involved. The GPS technology helps the participants to locate the treasure. The GPS handset can take you within 10 meters of the cache but it is up to you to find the exact location of the cache. The person who hides the cache can do a lot of things for example he can give out some clues to make it easier for you to find the cache.

While geocaching you have to extremely careful regarding the various rules and regulations, for you may end up in jail if you don't follow them. So have a list of do's and don'ts  and make sure that everyone in your group follows them.

Finally when it's your turn to hide the cache, choose a safe and secure area, and don't forget to mention some clues on the website to make it easier for the geocachers. Don't hide the cache in a private area without permission. The cache should be hidden at such a place such that it doesn't cause much trouble to the person finding it.
